A walk around Hessle Haven

A lovely September walk by the Haven, walking in the direction of Hull by the Humber walk. Lots of interesting invertebrates on the way.
Small Tortoiseshell on Sea Aster.
A flowering clump of sea aster attracted butterflies and hoverflies.
Cernuella virgata.
Larinioides cornutus in its retreat.
A very successful Araneus diadematus on its web covered on small insects.
Sea aster by the estuary.
Oystercatcher.
Araneus quadratus.

Field grasshopper.
Lariniodes cornutus.
Note: Somehow this post didn't get written when it should have, three years ago and I came across the set of photos, already selected to go in it and remembered the day. I have posted it retrospectively on 2/02/2018.
